The Perfect Surrender and humiliation were under gone by Christ: perfect because He was God, surrender and humiliation because He was man. Now the Christian belief is that if we somehow share the humility and suffering of Christ we shall also share in His conquest of death and find a new life after we have died and in it become perfect and happy. This means something much more then our trying to follow His teaching. People often ask when the next step to something beyond man will happen. But on the Christian view, it has happened already. |
In Christ a new kind of man appeared, and the new kind of life which began in Him is to be put into us. Believe!

One of the hardest spiritual tasks is to live without prejudices.
Sometimes we aren’t even aware how deeply rooted our prejudices are. We may think that we relate to people, who are different then we are, but in concrete circumstances our thoughts and words, often reveal that our prejudges are still there. Only when we fully claim that God loves us in an unconditional way and look at others as equally loved can we begin to discover that the great variety in humanity is an expression of the immense richness of God’s heart. Then the need to prejudge people can gradually disappear. We pray, "Dear God, make known to us our prejudices and help us to overcome them." It is important to know that our emotional life is not the same as our spiritual life. Our spiritual life is the life of God within us. As we feel our emotions shift, we must connect our spirits with the spirit of God and remind ourselves that what we feel is not who we are. We are God’s beloved children. It is very hard to control our moods, we can over come them by a well-disciplined spiritual life. This can prevent us from acting out our moods. We might not feel like getting up in the morning because we feel that life is not worth living, that nobody loves us, and that our work is boring. But if we get up anyhow, to spend some time reading the Gospels, praying the psalms, and thanking God for a new day, our moods may lose their power over us.
We pray, 'Holy Spirit, help me to achieve the discipline I need for a devout Christian life.' Jesus, who would suffer for the sins of All people, is astounding.
Who would believe that God would choose to save the world through a humble, suffering servant rather then a King? The idea is contrary to human pride and worldly thinking. But God often works in ways we don’t expect. The Messiah’s strength is shown by humility, suffering, and mercy. We’re all encouraged by a leader who stirs us to move ahead. God is that kind of a leader. He knows the future and His plans for us are good and full of hope. This does not mean that we will be spared pain, suffering, or hardship, but that God will see us through to a glorious conclusion. "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6 |
