Thought for the Day:
Are you watchful and alert? If God has given you a place of responsibility to teach, lead or to serve - use that position to encourage those around you to be spiritually prepared and morally awake.
It is important to listen to what God's Word says, but it is so much more important to obey it and to do what it says. God's Law offers us a true reflection of our sinful condition and gives us an opportunity to ask God for His forgiveness (reference Romans 7:7-8). When we are saved by God's Grace, we are no longer slaves to our selfish desires.

What we put into our minds determines what comes out in our words, desires and actions. We need to train our minds to focus on thoughts that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and worthy of praise. Examine what you are putting into your mind through movies, the internet, books, conversations, television, and video games. Replace harmful input with wholesome material. Above all read God’s word and pray. Ask God to fill your mind with good and pure thoughts. This takes practice but it can be done. How easy it is to read the Bible and not think about how to live differently. How easy it is to debate what a passage means and not live out that meaning. Exposure to God’s word is not enough, it must lead to God’s obedience. (reference Philippians 4:8-9)
“Thought For The Day” Learn to rely on God’s promises and Christ’s power to help you be content. If you always want more, ask God to remove that desire and teach contentment in every circumstance. Thank him each day for all the blessings you do have. (reference Philippians 4:10) Rather then being terrified by what is happening in our world we should confidently wait Jesus' return to bring justice and restoration to His people. Luke 21-28 Jesus told His disciples to keep constant watch for His return. Although 2,000 years have passed since He spoke these words, their truth remains. Jesus is coming again and we need to watch and be spiritually fit.
This means working faithfully at the tasks God has given us. Don’t let your mind and spirit be dulled by careless living or the foolish pursuit of pleasure. Don’t let the cares of this life weigh you down. Be ready to move at God’s command. Luke 21: 34-36 “Thought For The Day” More than ever, America needs every Christian to stand in the gap and pray. Together we can change America through prayer! God was not intentionally keeping His mysterious plan a secret, but His plan for the world could not be fully understood until Christ rose from the dead. God’s purpose is to offer salvation to the world, just as He planned to do long ago. God is sovereign; He is in charge
When your life seems chaotic, rest in this truth. Jesus is Lord and God is in control. God’s purpose to save you cannot be thwarted, no matter what evil Satan will bring. The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee that we belong to Him and that He will do what He has promised. The presence of the Holy Spirit in us demonstrates the genuineness of our faith and proves that we are God’s children, and secures eternal life for us. His power works in us to transform us now, and what we experience now is a taste of the total change we will experience in eternity. (reference Ephesians 1: 9-18) “Thought For The Day” If you want to get to know God you have to spend time with Him. There is no substitute for knowing God personally. Study Jesus’ life in the gospels to see what He was like on earth 2,000 years ago and get to know Him in prayer now. Personal knowledge of Christ will change your life. |
