Walking on water is not too tough when you're on a Minnesota lake in the middle of the winter but over 2,000 years ago we know of Jesus' walk on the water. It was not just a miracle, it was another lesson for us all and Peter played our role. That being, we are at times strong in faith but as Peter was approaching Jesus, the storm about them distracted him - he took his eyes off of Jesus and like us, when the trials and tribulations of our life begin to over take us, we are distracted, we begin to sink and become separated from our faith.
As it was then or today or a who knows how many years in the future, Jesus is the same "It is I, be not afraid". He has told us to not be afraid, to follow and to trust Him. All we need to do is ask - have I surrendered my life to Christ or am I on the edge, stuck on my earthly desires and distractions?
If we have made our faith commitment, that doesn't mean we won't have trials and tribulations. Those may happen but if they do, we don't have to be afraid or burdened. Jesus has told us so.
