Life is not about you, it's about God.
We thank Charles R. Swindoll for those words above and we remember . . .
"I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:14
God's goal is not to make sure you are happy. No matter how hard it is for you to believe this, it's time to do so. Life is not about you being comfortable and happy and successful and pain free. It is about becoming the man or woman God has called you to be.

Jesus purposefully pursued quiet time with His Father - a sacred space worthy of sacrifice, where the urgent bows to the eternal; a gift (not a waste) of time for God.
Carving out moments to be alone with God is an exercise in stillness where we elevate the Creator above creation, "being" above "doing". Where we listen to the One who is always listening to us. Resting in God's presence, our soul enjoys a banquet from God's Word. Our minds forge an alliance with truth, and dreams are born. We thank Alecia B. Chole for her words above and we remember . . . "They who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them." John 14:21 [Have you ever wondered . . . ] How do you bring yourself to go on when the roof is caving in on you at the same time as the floor is falling out from under you and the walls are crashing in? Is God even there?
Some situations are so complicated and overwhelming that we're tempted to just walk away and quit. However, we need to explore what God's up to and what He's trying to tech us in the midst of tough times. At pivotal moments like these, we shouldn't push away from God, but run to Him in prayer. We thank John Hull and Tim Elmore for these words above (from their book: Pivotal Praying) and we remember these words from Habakkuk 3:19 . . . "The Lord is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, and He will make me walk an my high hills." |
