There you will see the summary points that Pastor Stanley shared with us. What follows here is some added comments that came to my mind as I pondered what we heard. Use the comment button if the following prompts any comments that you may have.
I think all Christians would say they have an awareness to who Noah, Abraham, Moses and David were. Most would say they were great men that we learned about from the Bible. We would also say that each of them had their challenges and their sins as well, but they pursued God's forgiveness and blessing.
How about us? As we look at ourselves would we see the ABCs? (are we Arrogant, Bad, Cruel, Devious, Evil, Faithless, Greedy or other?) We all could probably find some sinful aspects within us that we would like to change. But could we, would we is the challenge.
Pastor Stanley's sermon from the 12th reminded us that we must confess our sins and repent.
Easy? No, but if we do and work to give up our sinful ways - we begin to make the sacrifices needed that help bring us closer to God. Know this; God loves us, the price has been paid (Jesus' death on the cross). It is a great gift (accept it and embrace it).
