[He] stepped out of the chariot, threw off His robes and became man.
We than Billy Graham for his words and they remind us of Jeremiah 10:10 . . .
"But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King."
[over two thousand years ago] Looking down over the battlements of heaven, God saw this planet swinging in space - doomed, damned, crushed, and bound for hell. He saw you and me struggling beneath our load of sin. His decision was made [now was the time]. The angelic hosts bowed in humility and awe as heaven's Lord of Lords, who could speak worlds into space, go into His jeweled chariot, went back through the pearly gates, across the steep of the skies, and on a black Judean night, while the stars stand together and the escorting angels chanted His praise,
[He] stepped out of the chariot, threw off His robes and became man. We than Billy Graham for his words and they remind us of Jeremiah 10:10 . . . "But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King."

Christmas is just days ahead. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as we prepare to celebrate Christmas - the birth of our Lord Jesus.
[picture this] An ordinary night with ordinary sheep and ordinary shepherds. And were it not for a God who loves to hook an 'extra' on the front of the ordinary, the night would have gone unnoticed. The sheep would have been forgotten, and the shepherds would have slept the night away.
But God dances amidst the common. And that night . . . the night was ordinary no more. We thank Max Lucado for his words above and they remind us of . . . John 3:16 "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Today as we enjoy the Advent season, we look forward to the birth of Jesus,
because we now know what He gives us: A PEACE that can never be disturbed = John 14:27 JOY that can never be diminished = John 15:11 A RIGHTEOUSNESS that can never be tarnished = 2 Corinthians 5:21 A NEARNESS to God that can never be reversed = Ephesians 2:13 A SALVATION that can never be canceled = Hebrews 5:8-9 A HOPE that can never be disappointed = Hebrews 6:17-20 An INHERITANCE that can never be lost = 1 Peter 1:3-4 And this is just one of the many reasons why we greet others with "Merry Christmas!" Please Note: Due to the expected snow and travel concerns related - Our Sunday December 5th, 2021 Church Service is canceled.
Everyone please stay home and be safe and join us next week when things get better. Thank you. President Washington issued a proclamation on October 3, 1789, designating Thursday, November 26 as a national day of thanks. In his proclamation, Washington declared that the necessity for such a day sprung from the Almighty’s care of Americans prior to the Revolution, assistance to them in achieving independence, and help in establishing the constitutional government. Here are those words:.
By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation. Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor-- and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness. Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be-- That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks--for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation--for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war--for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed--for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted--for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us. And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions-- to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually--to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed--to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord--To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us--and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best. Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789. Go: Washington If you wish to be a man or a woman of God who desires to live a godly life that will leave its mark upon this world, you must stand in the shadow of your Savior. Trust Him to work through the trials you encounter, through the extreme circumstances you cannot handle on your own. He is still the God of impossible situations. He does what no earthly individual can do.
Our thanks to Charles R. Swindoll for these words above from his writings . . . "Day by day". And we remember: "Trust in the Lord and do good." -Psalm 37:3 |
