It is good for us to continue to pursue our faith regardless of how others think. One way to do so is to stay in prayer - for example, have you ever used the "5 Finger Prayer"? It goes like this: 1. For your thumb nearest you. Begin your prayers for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for loved one is as C.S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty". |
3. The next finger is the tallest one and it reminds us of our leaders. This includes our President, our various elected representatives, business leaders, and city administrators. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger - what many say is our weakest finger. It should remind us to pray for the weak, those suffering, who need help. We can not pray enough for them.
5. And lastly is our little finger - which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and all the the others listed above. Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself and after praying for the others first, your own needs should be in a proper perspective.
