We often wonder where is God in our lives as our hectic days unfold? Some have happy events, some sad and some are tragic. For Sheri and I, our son Corey had called us last Saturday the 10th. Mattison was about to be air lifted to the hospital. Our prayers were immediate for her, for Corey and for Lisa. Sadly, a couple of hours later, Corey had called and told us that Mattison was now in heaven with God. I agreed, for Sheri and I both thought of Jesus' words as recorded in Mark 10:14. "Let the little children come to Me". Although we all were sad, we knew God was in control and we could trust Him.
We then began our trip from Florida back to Rochester. We were able to arrive safely and to help Corey and Lisa get things ready for Mattison's "Celebration of Life" ceremony on Thursday the 15th. That event went well and we were so thankful for all the sympathies and prayers given that day. But there was more.
This morning (Sunday the 18th), I wanted to catch up on my daily readings and starting with last Sunday the 11th in Our Daily Bread, I then read each day's inspirational message. When I got to Thursday the 15th (the day that we had held Mattison's "Celebration of Life" ceremony), there it was again in print - the Mark 10:14 verse that was of so much comfort those 5 days earlier. Some may call that an interesting coincidence but I thought that was another of God's gift for us. Although I did not get a chance to read those words the morning of the 15th, God had that Bible verse there as just another reminder for me that He is in control during the sad times as well as during the happy times. So, when in doubt - remember ------- >
