Our review of the section of the Bible known as the 'Minor Prophets' continues with this 32nd book. It is summarized as follows (and yes, it is a different type of writing):
Who wrote it, when and why?
It was written by Jonah in 783 – 753 BC time frame to tell the story of his calling, his fleeing away, his prayers, his anger and of God's mercy (and from it is the famous story often told to children . . . the story of Jonah being swallowed by the sea creature). We learn that all of us can be frustrated or even angry with God but His ways are not our ways and He works events to ensure His Will happens (unfolding His blessings and mercy).
