Our review of the Bible continues with our start in the 'Wisdom & Poetry' section of the Bible. The Book of Job is the eighteenth book of the Bible and our summary is:
What is it about? Reading the 'Book of Job' is as challenging as it is interesting because it really brings up the question – why do bad things happen to good people?
Dr. J. Vernon McGee's commentary on this helps us to learn that everyone requires repentance, humility and patience – even a man like Job who loved and feared God. In this book, we see that Job struggled with what we believe that God wants us all to understand . . . that God created all things and in His timing, He will make all things right (His timing & His plans may be hard to understand but it is good).
Why should we know this? We learn that at times, we struggle or even suffer but we can trust God in all things and He will bless us how and when as He knows best. That means we take the bad with the good - for in our blessings and trials, we may be God's example for others to learn from.
