As this week unfolds, consider the Harvest . . . It would be a surprise if you planted corn and pumpkins came up. It’s a natural law to harvest what we plant. It’s true in other areas, too. Every action has results. If you plant to please your own desires, you’ll harvest a crop of sorrow and evil. If you plant to please God, you’ll harvest joy and everlasting life. What kind of seeds are you planting? |

As this week unfolds, don't forget GOD's Protection . . .
God is a shelter, a refuge when we are afraid. Our faith in God as protector would carry us through all the dangers and fears of life. This should be a picture of our trust-trading all our fears for faith in Him, no matter how intense our fears. To do this we must “live” and “rest” with Him. By entrusting ourselves to his protection and pledging our daily devotion to Him, we will be kept safe. It is comforting to know that God watches over us even in times of great stress and fear. As this week unfolds, remember you can Trust in the Lord . . .
It’s easy to get so caught up in our man-made structures and rules that we forget the people involved. Are your guidelines for living God-made or man-made? Are they helping people or have they become needless stumbling blocks? Many people use religion to gain prestige, comfort, or even political votes. But those are self centered motives. True believers follow Jesus simply because they know He has the truth and His way is the way to live. As this week unfolds, consider . . . Trust in the Lord. . .
To commit ourselves to the Lord means to trust in him, believing that he can care for us better then we can care for ourselves. We should be willing to wait patiently for him to work out what is best for us. What an unbeliever gets on earth may last a lifetime, but what you get from following God lasts forever. |
