Message: “Heading for Jerusalem: As I Have Loved You”
Sermon notes: As Pastor Stanley led us in the reading from John 15,
we are reminded of Jesus' commandment for us to love one another as He loved us. We must also remember that life is more than just showing love
(that can just be a show). Jesus wants us to understand what love is and that we live a life of love.
It is not just a once and awhile thing - it is to be ongoing.
When we do; things like hate, greed, jealously and despair
do not have a part of our life and the good unfolds.
Communion
Hymnal #266: “Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling” (Howard)
End of service
And as this next week unfolds, remember. . .
The more time we spend getting to know Christ, the more we will understand and appreciate who He is. We may be drawn to Him for His teaching, but we will come to know Him as the Son of God. We may find that words of faith come easily, but deep appreciation for Christ comes with living by faith.
