"Dear Father, as the birth of this day symbolizes a renewal, let me too now renew my vow of commitment to You, to Your Son Jesus Christ our Savior and to Your Holy Spirit our Counselor. Let the light of truth dawn in me just as the light of the sun now bathes Your beautiful earth, your creation for us." (Logia)
Like our comments last week (scroll down), our morning prayers are a great way to start the day. And if you need some guidance, maybe some words like the following would be good to use.

There are many ways to do our morning prayers - here is one way if you would like to try it. "Heavenly Father, I give You all honor and glory as this majestic day begins. As I watch the morning unfold, let it remind me of Your creative genius. How I marvel at Your works, dear Lord, as the rising sun calls to life all that You have made. The air, the flowers, the grass, the trees, the birds were all given as Your free gift for us to enjoy. In the name of Your Son, my Savor I praise You and in the name of Your Holy Spirit I thank You! Amen." (Logia) And don't forget these words: Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress. -Psalm 71:3
So, this year let us all pursue God's love. Why? Because these words from Luke 19:10 are for us all.
"The Son of Man has come to seek and to save all that was lost." Happy New Year! A new year, amazing! God has gifted us with time.
Consider these words from Rabbi Eckstein as we take on the challenges ahead for 2017: “God’s greatest gift to humankind is time, but it is not unlimited. No matter who we are, there are still only 24 hours in a day, 365 days a year, and an average life span that is all too short. Too often, we go through life in a "slumber," not really governing what we do or thinking about why we do it. We go through our daily routines like zombies, devoid of meaning and purpose. We let precious moments slip by and fail to notice the beauty around us. Some people get to the end of their lives and realize that they slept their way through it all; others never awake from their dream-state and believe that they will live forever." Yet there is always hope – hope in the future when God will redeem His world and His people. I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the LORD. Psalm 27: 13-14 |
